EXHIBITION HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL 7th JUNE 2010
"Island Magic" at The Blasket Centre 30th April - 7th June 2010
My first exhibition this year “ Island Magic” will be at the Blasket Centre, Dunquin, Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry between 30th April and 30th May, 2010. “Island Magic” will portray the wildlife of the islands off the west coast of Ireland. I am honored that Padraig Kennelly has agreed to launch my exhibition on 30th April at 18.00 hours.
Tralee based photographer and journalist Padraig Kennelly was founder of the Kerry Eye newspaper in 1974 and author of "Eye Witness" ( launched in October 2009). This book and the Kennelly archive (www.kennellyarchive.com) represent a lifetime of his work.
We are privileged to also have Killarney’s Marina Cassidy playing at the
official opening of " Island Magic". Marina Cassidy is undoubtedly one of Irelands finest exponents of solo performance with voice and harp. She has won many awards, most notably the Irish Vocal Heritage Award 2000
She has given many concerts in Ireland and abroad and in December 2009 she was the Soprano soloist for a performance of Handel's 'Messiah' at Arundel Cathedral in the UK. Her talent as a harpist and singer is sure to cast a magical spell on The Blasket Centre and the islands beyond.
