Pelican Preening

This young Brown Pelican was perched high on the branches of a tree growing out of the cliffs in Anguilla. He paid great attention to preening his feathers. The sanstone cliffs behind made an ideal background for a portrait shot. The large distendible pouch is used as a scoop to gather fish.
